Staycation Coronavirus Update: 24th February 2021

When are caravan and camping sites reopening?

We are all desparate to get away for a change of scenery and a well-earned break, but what are the rules for camping and caravan sites across England?

The Prime Minister’s roadmap indicates that "self-contained accommodation" (not requiring shared use of bathing, entry/exit, catering or sleeping facilities) for single households will be able to reopen no earlier than 12th April.

Other accommodation, such as campsites with shared wash blocks, will be able to reopen no earlier than 17th May .

In light of this, we have created our own little 'roadmap' to make it clear to holidaymakers when they can visit our holiday cottage, glamping facilities, and camping and caravan site:

  • 12th April : The holiday cottage and yurt are to open as normal. The caravan and camping site will open with closed facilities to self-contained tents, motorhomes and caravans only. No group bookings allowed.
  • 17th May : The caravan site facilities will open and we will welcome arrivals of non-self-contained units. Group bookings of up to 2 units.
  • 21st June : All restrictions will be lifted and groups of up to 3 units allowed.

When we are able to open our shared facilities, our usual high standard of cleanliness will be maintained. We will ensure that all safety measures are adhered to and will work hard to make sure every one of our guests has a wonderful stay in the Peak District.

There are many outdoor and socially-distanced activities and adventures to be had in our neck of the woods, so we look forward to welcoming you on your first holiday since 2020.

Lots of love, Amy & Sue x

We're thrilled to announce that we've been rated 5-stars by Visit England - England's official tourist board! It's the first time we've applied for an official star rating and we're over the moon to have been rated 5 stars. In their report, visit England said: "The park is maintained to an extremely high standard with a strong nature-based ethos. Nestled in the Peak District guests are guaranteed a tranquil location with stunning views and excellent facilities. The owners do a superb job in maintaining this established park to such a high level. Continual investment ensures guests can expect a high standard throughout." It's wonderful to receive some recognition for the hard work we put into the site. We promise to continue to maintain and improve what we have created here so that our standards never slip, and so our customers can continue to enjoy the landscape and location.

Camping provides so many benefits. Camping is good for you, both physically and mentally. Benefits include connecting to nature, increased physical exercise, unplugging from technology, social opportunities, learning new skills, and more family time.
