Special Weekends for Children with Special Needs

Teddy Bear's Picnic 14 and 15 Sept 2018 - Book Now!

Families who have children with additional needs and adults who have additional needs themselves are invited to book for special weekends at Upper Hurst Farm Caravans & Camping. These special weekends, with the first one on Friday 14th and Saturday the 15th September 2018, will be almost exclusively for the children and their families who come to us time and time again along with friends of theirs - and other families that find us! We will have an event on the playing field each weekend that will be followed by marshmallows around the firepit. For our very first special weekend in September this year we will have a ‘Teddy Bears Picnic’.

As with any camping weekend this will be a great opportunity for families to meet other families and be able to share experiences whilst the children connect with other children. The difference here is that the children will have more freedom to express themselves without being regarded as ‘difficult’ and that makes for a more relaxing time for the parents and/or carers.

We already have several families who return to Upper Hurst Farm because their children feel very much ‘at home’ here. I believe this is due to two main factors, the first being that the land here is very healing and it engenders in those people who are sensitive to their environment (children are always more tuned in) a feeling of ‘at ease and peace’ and the second is the welcome that everybody receives here, particularly from Yvonne and Paul who unreservedly adore children and will always go the extra mile especially when that child has additional needs.

To quote Yvonne, "The single most rewarding thing for us is when our guests take home special memories of their time at Upper Hurst Farm."

For more information or to book please email info@upperhurstfarm.com quoting 'special weekend.' Please share with as many people that you feel may be interested.

We're thrilled to announce that we've been rated 5-stars by Visit England - England's official tourist board! It's the first time we've applied for an official star rating and we're over the moon to have been rated 5 stars. In their report, visit England said: "The park is maintained to an extremely high standard with a strong nature-based ethos. Nestled in the Peak District guests are guaranteed a tranquil location with stunning views and excellent facilities. The owners do a superb job in maintaining this established park to such a high level. Continual investment ensures guests can expect a high standard throughout." It's wonderful to receive some recognition for the hard work we put into the site. We promise to continue to maintain and improve what we have created here so that our standards never slip, and so our customers can continue to enjoy the landscape and location.
