Planning Permission

Following a successful career as an Electrochemist, Sue bought some land at Upper Hurst Farm and got planning permission in 2011 to build a touring site which comprises 25 super pitches and 15 tent pitches, plus a manager's pitch.

She also sympathetically renovated a hayloft and cowshed to create a beautiful family home. This was followed by the renovation of a little Piggery to create Gaia Lodge with wood fired hot-tub.

More recently, she created a magical retreat in a wildlife corner - Gaia's Hideaway. This comprises an authentic Mongolian Yurt with a generous decking area and wood fired hot-tub. This is the jewel in the crown - it has uninterrupted views over the Derbyshire hills and is simply awesome.

Spiritual Connection

Sue is not afraid of saying that she has a gift - to create beauty -so that others can come here to unwind, relax and therefore to heal.

Sue recognises that it is not her, per se, that has created such beauty, but rather the energy that works through her. This, she attributes to the spiritual connection she has with the land at Upper Hurst Farm. It is also due to the ability to be able to tap into and harness other people's creativity which is extremely rewarding for all of the team players.

Sue admits that is very humbling to have such a connection - one that allows inspiration and ideas to flow. She is also a Reiki master and works Shamanically.

Stunning Rural Location

There are four mini-Shetlands ponies, Suki and Tiger-Lilly, who are mums to Maya and Bella - the little two - who were born here in 2015. Meet the pony sessions are offered to allow the children to connect with animals at weekends - time permitting!

Paths are mown in and around the wild flower meadow for enjoyment.
